PEDALS

PAV LOV π
The Monotone Effects PAV LOV π is a recreation of the Green Russian Bubble Font BM distortion pedal from 1995 without the old quirks as tone suck and impractical reversed in- and outputs. Many hours have been spent to recreate the tone and feel of the original. Compared to vintage USA BM style pedals, Russian style pedals generally have less gain, more bass and brighter mids, making them cut better through the mix in a band setting.  Although the difference is subtle, compared to our Beige PAV LOV II, the Green PAV LOV π has a bit more grit and bite to the sound, and less bass.

PAV LOV II
The PAV LOV II is our tribute to the Russian Civil War BM distortion pedal from 1992 with some improvements, such as a 9v DC in and a true bypass switch, without compromising its famous tone. It sounds similar to our Green PAV LOV π , though a hint more wooly, bassy and smooth. Listen to Black Keys' Thickfreakness or to Pink Floyd's 1995 album Pulse for some great examples of lead tones using this type of pedal. It's also very suitable for bass, due to it's bottom end.
